- Youtube Thumbnail Downloader:So how do you make awesome looking customthumbnails that get you more views on your YouTube videos ? even if you don't have anygraphic design knowledge at all I'm gonna show you how in this quick and easytutorial right now Hey what's up guys Sean here with video influencershelping you build your influence income and impact with online video and on this channelwe do interviews with video influencers as well as tips and strategy videos just like this one so if you'renew here you know consider subscribing but as you know custom thumbnails are oneof the most important parts of actually getting people to watch your videos and for having success onYouTube in general but it can be hard to make thumbnails like the pros so let's jump into some quickand easy tips right now and hey before we jump over and make the thumbnail we are going to talk abouthow to make a screen shot from your video and use that for your thumbnail but the very best thingthat you can do is to take a separate photo intentionally for your thumbnail so first I'm going to takea couple of photos with my smart phone that we are going to be able to use in the thumbnail ok guys so like I said the first thing weare going to do here is we can grab a screen shoot of the video. now I'm using the snipping tool and Youtube Thumbnail Downloader: I'm ona PC you could do a screen capture and you can capture the whole screen I am just going to take a pictureof a frame of a pause YouTube video your best place to do this might be actually in your video editingsoftware or making your video full screen if you wanted to grab a screenshot like this nextyou want to jump over to canva.com and canva is entirely free it is a super cool design site and that'swhere we are going to design our custom thumbnail starting here on this screen once you aresign up for your account say use custom dimensions what you want to do is do is 1920 by 1080that is HD resolution dimensions and that is going to be the dimensions of your custom thumbnail so justput those numbers in there and then what you wanna do is you can go to uploads and upload eitherthe photos from a custom thumbnail shoot were you take some intentional photos or the screenshotso with that screenshot there you can see that one here and all you gotta do is drag it in and youcan scale it up and then put text on there and use your screenshot however you want but I'm goingto use one of these photos from the shoot I just did just now sitting here with my iPhone and thisjust shows you can make great thumbnails even without necessarily like a great camera because it'sthe front facing camera of my iPhone and it's not even the greatest quality and so I was able to justput those in there but one of the things I recommend is that if you have a DLSR or something that you takesome high quality photos for your thumbnail and the first thing that you wanna do is you actuallywant to make it a little more contrasty you want to up the saturation and you want to sharpenit the way you do that on canva is if you go to the blur tool if you go that way it makes if blurry butif you go the other way it makes it sharper and there's been research done and stuff to say that thumbnailsare more effective if they are about 30% over saturated and 30% over sharpen because it's so smallyou want the image really to pop is not going to be this big right and there is my crazy face sorry aboutthat so then what you can do is you can add text and the way I like to make my text to pop out andmake it readable is by adding a shape first and so in this case we can bring in a nice rounded corner boxhere and put a shape where our text is going to go and then we can change the color of it youcan grab extra colors and maybe grab a dark gray shade or something just like that and thenwhat we can do is grab out text and simply put it in here how with whatever out video is about and soI usually like to do kind of block text but of course whatever your style is and we could say weirdtrick for YouTube kinda matches my face and change the text to white and we should be good to gonow a couple of principals for good thumbnails is you don't want to use too many word right? because is so small you want it to be as kinda big and readable as possibleso there you go and another thing that you can check out in canva is that if you go over to the searchbar here you can come up with just search YouTube you can come up with cool designs and coolshapes and stuff so actually can bring in like a logo and maybe put this down here and that couldbe like kinda sitting in my hand even though my hand kinda got cut off and we can get rid of thistext and boom there you go and what I like I said what I like to do is usually have like a nicer image forthe thumbnail that we actually take intentionally so this kinda gives you a look into our worldof what like Benji and I would do for a video influencers shoot is we would put the camera on a timeron the DSLR and shoot custom you know intentionally photos that are going to be use for our thumbnailsright ?Youtube Thumbnail Downloader: so in this case we can go weird trick for or just weird trick 'cause the YouTube logo is thereyeah alright and then that can be just move down here you can rotate a little bit and like I alwayslike to do I think that having it be really readable is important one of the best ways to do that is probablythrow an element behind it that just really makes it pop on the page and then what you do is clickon this and say back and it sends that to the back YouTube weird trick and just like the otherphoto even if it is with your DSLR go a head and sharpen it up a little bit up the saturationa little bit contrast maybe move the image around and there we go YouTube weird trick and then allyou gotta go is say download and say high quality image and that will save into your computer andthen just hit save and then will cut over to my media channel and so we are inside creator studio and weare on the videos themselves and we're in the place where you edit your stuff of course we haveyour default three options to pick thumbnail or your change icon custom thumbnail right here go to yourfolder and pick out the thumbnail that you wanna upload which would be this one and then thatone would update right there if I wanted to change this thumbnail now just in case you don't havethis option here one thing that you need to do is turn on your account for monetization so if you go to YouTubesettings and go to view additional features you want.

- youtube thumbnail downloder:so I justfinished this thing let me flip the screen I just finished this thing howyou call it work how you call it this finish work you know ones who know mebetter know it so I just finish work now I'm gonna see the guy who eats YouTubethen I cook drinks YouTube that I hope it sounds weird right yeahif you go to his channel and you see his trailer you know what isn't talkingabout before I play this video let me give you a heads up the videos orientedit to the YouTube creator so if you're not a YouTube creator this might not bevery interested for you so why not watch our travel pals for example and learnhow to troll when it come to London or just send us a message herewe're gonna help you out for all the YouTube creators this is Derral Eve'syou're about to see Derral Eve's and he's like one of the fathers of YouTubenot that he started YouTube but he talks about YouTube a lot gives a lot of tipsit's really really useful content and he also shares one strategy that can bringyou a lot of watch time which is the most important thing in YouTube so Ireally hope you enjoy it watch your channel content is definitely it'sdefinitely there's some value to it however YouTube called me up and saidwhat you know we want say that you know more about videoschannel because you can have several different types of videos so they canshow off and they don't want you to you know mislead people even though weunderstand we're saying mislead people to think that it's all about thechannels that about individual videos and so I'm going to change this a littlebit but the concepts still the same what I want you to to take a step back whenyou think about this because what what happens is let's just take three wouldhave these three people right here on the front row have three channels okayand basically their video content is similar now the difference is you mightlive in friends you might live in the United States and you might live in Tokyoyou want to Tokyo okay Tokyo wait the difference is is understanding wherethey're at now you'll find that if you look on your YouTube page on a on adesktop but you'll see related channels have you ever seen that and you seechannels that are there now when you first start out it'll probably be likeJay Paul and you know Beauty pie and all this other stuff is because YouTubedoesn't have enough data on your channel and your videos but as you as you age itstarts to change now you have a hundred and fifty some odd thousand subscriberson your learn English okay the learning this has your recommended channelschanged as you got bigger yeah okay and and the thing about it is when youunderstand that that it changes I want to explain what that is and this iswhere the disconnect was when is explaining it before because when youactually upload a video it's similar to other channels uploading video and it'ssimilar content it has similar viewer behavior and also has similarsubscribers okay so if your content that you're uploading from your your channelis similar to another channel what's YouTube most likely going to do it'sgoing to it's going to show it as a related content right and what happenswhen you more consistently does it not happenmore consistently that you're actually building an audience at the same timethat's that's how it works and so what happens is yes it's an individualchannel in individual videos but you can carry more weight that you have a higherprobability the highest probability of your video being found is on your owncontent so when when someone's watching the video if it's related and you'refrom your library did you have a highest probability of showing up the secondwould be how how is the viewing behavior the person that's in it because whatthey're seeing and what their history of you know what they watch on YouTube andwhat they engagement on YouTube makes a difference and then too in that videowhat's all the viewer histories and what are they most likely to watch that wellthat helps to figure out what's next but if your content is similar and you havesimilar audience and you know subscriber crossover you have a higher likelihoodthat that video is going to show up okay and there have been channels that worktogether to say okay you're going to do a video on this I'm gonna do a reactionon that and I'm gonna do a video on this and you're gonna do reaction to thatguess what happens they grow together okayI like these bias not only because he's a friend and client but he's probablyone of the most talented youtubers I've ever come acrossMathias started to channel several years ago and him and his wife have anotherchannel and decided hey let's do this again they wanted to bring their familyin their brothers brother-in-law's and really start to build an empire so whatthey decided is you know what we need to create a power cluster of content andwhat we did was they were able to start four new channels and at that time whatthey would do is figure out okay we're gonna make a video on this and thenis going to do this and they were gonna react to it on this and then battle theuniverse is going to be here and before you know it they're starting to grow Ithink the last time and they like the last time I looked at their statsthey're like it 207 million views a month that's a lot of money and thatdoesn't include any brand deal from there and so what it was doing isworking with this with this model of when videos come out these videos thatare related and that's that is the highest traffic source is suggestedvideos is the highest traffic source and the most effective traffic source toachieve what YouTube wants which is more watch one what's that well more watchtime equals more money for them right and the longer that someone stays on onYouTube more ads are served but that's that's where it is it's like more watchtime for cooperation idiots it is and it's like everything else that sometimesto make some pretty interesting decisions well there's a video I have onmy youtube channel and and this is something that I don't care if you'recreator that has the most amazing content if your thumbnail is notclickable and what I mean by that it's not not engaging and it doesn't poll aviewer to say I'm interested in this and click on it then you're not going to getyou're not going to get a say and so I was going to spend more time on onething on your content it would be this now there's an art to this and it takestime and it takes time to know what works and what doesn't work and what Ifound is there's a the igniting that actually does Team edgehis name is Jay Fred I actually have a video gives a full presentation on itwhat am I good at my youtube channel and download that or just watch it but heexplains exactly how to pull it in and they literally spent hours on theirthumbnails if not days sometimes but hate that that means money for them andyou know the more engaging it is the better it is so take time good but whatI look at is you have all this competitionand I want to start looking like who uses YouTube on your phone let's justsee raise a hand okay and is that most the time to give youthat okay if you don't I want you to start doing it the reason why is becausewhen you start to understand how its put together and how the layout is you'llknow exactly what you need to do for you know for for the content you're creatingso this is a this is a youtuber from Poland I'm actually gonna go visit whenI go into her wedding her husband the future husband's wedding here in a weekor two great friend but what I'm saying is I a very captivating thumbnail likeeverything's in black and white except for her it's pulling it in so and soforth but what I'm getting at is when people swipe something has to make mestop you know see seeing right here this is this pretty funny like this is notthe most engaging thumbnail but I want to know what what it's abouthas Mark Hamill who is you know the last Jedi you know acting funny you know I'mlike okay what is this and then the reaction of the person from Wiredmagazine just kind of like wanna you know like he's being who he is I guessbut I think the most important thing is really working on your thumbnails sotake time I think it's like a 50-minute presentation but it's well worth itbecause he actually shows you how to actually make engaging thumbnails okayand and so on suggested video traffic on all your channels you need to look athow you can you can rework your thumbnail so like one of the firstthings that I do in the client is let's work on your thumbnails and go back andreplace all your thumbnails now that alone has made a substantial amount ofdifference when they didn't do any other thing to their content andany other meta information you just did that and so that's a really reallyimportant thing and well we'll probably show the example or - okay how BIG'syour library yeah what I would do if you don't have that much time just designatehow many for extra thumbnails a week or five extra thumbnails a week and what Iwould do is to see what's your highest performing I probably wouldn't do that iif I get some views but if it was a good video and it got views before maybe outof there fresh it work if I'm new the thumb that I might as well refresh thetitle and add some tags and maybe it'll get starting again some use but but yeahI definitely would do that another question over hereyeah that's a great idea so doing that my playlist is another another factorbut one thing I like is real-time analytics and I like to click on whatwas the most viewed in the last 48 hours and it shows you results in 20 differentvideos those videos I look at okay maybe I don't want to mess with this onebecause the section performing but what happens if it has a better betterthumbnail and you can gauge that and if you hire diversion then boom let's let'sgo for it YouTube also has tools to execute a/b testing it's just only acouple clients that I've had that sell no is it 2-1 my if I change it to tryand optimize that if it doesn't really have that effect on I need to change itbut absolutely yeah but it was coming from the is it a custom thumbnail or isit just a thumbnail okay yeah yeah you just go to your go to your channel pageyou click on the video hit edit and then roll roar it says custom you'll saydownload image just hit that and you'll be finethen that way you can test back and forth but I'm telling you I've seen itlike I've witnessed it that channels just take off from that just because ofthat one little change when it comes to which ones do and don't affect themetadata to renew it okay thank you I'm very cautious of what videos I actuallyhave YouTube reevaluate so when you to reevaluate something it is if you changeyour title if you change your description or your tags your thumbnailis not in that category thank goodness and either our cards or n screenelements thing to this and so you can change that as much much as you wantI wouldn't do it that much I would just just let it go for a little while see ifyou get a little bit more engagement from so alright so I want to talk aboutwatch time velocity YouTube is very interesting and they're trying to get asmuch watch time as possible and the thing that they look at and it triggerssome of the algorithms that are out there especially in the search anddiscovery is around the velocity of what what's actually happening with thevideos so that's just an example we have channel aputs a video and during that time it starts to get a whole bunch ofengagement in a short amount of time and a whole bunch of what I say agents to besharing commenting which doesn't really make a difference but it does in thesense of YouTube says oh we need to look out for this let's see what's going onand what happens when you upload a video is it starts to suggest it to differentpeople and once it starts to get a little bit more information on whatwe're actually watching the video who's engaging with the video it serves it upto more of those people that are similar to that does that make sense and whenthat happens that's when things start to really take off and watch that velocityis is really important I'm going to give you a half and I love this hack it worksso well and I'm gonna give you an example of what this actually did butthe watch time velocity is I want to get as much traffic as possible to thatvideo now there's ways to do that you can actually don't have an email listyou could email them at the same time you can do an Instagram push to say heygo watch this video you can do a tweet you know you can do this all thesethings all at once and it's just sending people to that one specific video nowthe worst thing that have ever existed and they have almost the longest is livestreaming on YouTube they still can't figure that out for some reason but it'sgetting better one of the tactics that I use is a live stream velocity push whichis I don't do this every time I'm I only do it once a month or on very specialvideos which would be to be our hero neos I have a set of clients that thistime last year which is I got a humbling text but this time last year they hadzero subscribers this year in one year one full year they have two millionsubscribers 600 million video views and I'm just so glad to be a part of just asmall little part of you know helping them navigate a little bitI mean they're super super super talented when they reached out to me andthey had a very very special video that they made and they want to say hey wewant this to be one of our most watched videos and you have any ideas for usthis is well there is this one hack that we can do and and I explained it to themI says this is what you need to do you need to start a live stream you need toget all of your subscribers coming you know make it very know that you're doinga live stream and on the live stream you're gonna talk about the video you'reabout to release and in that video you're engaging with people and you'redrawing for about 3035 minutes a lot of people are coming on getting them reallyhyped about this video and then say ok we're going to go like let's go buyeverything over the computer and hit publish and said Katie nice and gohere's the link in the chat go ahead and go tour it you know let's go tocountdown in about 30 seconds and we're all going to cut the stream we're allwatching at once and then you know we'll engage with you on comments and whatthey did is they put the live stream in push the video over or people over tothe new video and in the live stream made it private really important thatyou make it private don't make it listed because if it's a public video then itcompetes with the video you just released you made the privates think wedon't want it to be shown again and then they went engaged with them for over anhour on the new video so what did it do well this is the new video it's themdoing their first music video the sheriff's TV chair and what happened isthey did the push like what we talked about and now it's their most viewedvideo 17 million views on them and it was they're fast- today is their fastest velocity of growth on their channel and it broughtin with weren't most subscribers and everything else because of their firstmusic video and and as they take a step back it was really well done it reallyconnected with their audience they connected with their future audience butit had a great content had a great thumbnail for it and it was justor getting that extra push which is hitting that velocity happen and thenYouTube is just promoting the heck out of it okay so you take a live videogoing live on your channel okay and you basically gather your audience ofsubscribers if you don't have any subscribers this doesn't work very wellif you have 100 subscribers and 100 people are there watching you it canwork really well it's better than them but it's taking that and say okay we'regoing to be launching this special video and pushing them over to the video thatyou're just releasing and then that what that's what really boosts this specificvideo to really take off because YouTube's seen a whole bunch of hundredpeople clicking on this video immediately and watching with itengaging with it and it's your most engaged fans and so we're seeing thatinteraction happening and you're going on and making that live video privateand going on and commenting to with them you know getting them pumped about itthey're out sharing and so on and so forth and there's other things that youdo and that's what really pushes it out you got to launch the video when you'relive and give them the URL and say everyone but could go see this now andthen taking the live video off and making a private subject more forwards yeah like are youcan you actually swipe up two to go you can do the same thing the concept islike this is on YouTube gathering them on YouTube but if you do it fromInstagram and have them push over it is taking them from one platform on toanother which is really good if you can get them to do that there will be peopleas a man and honest at Instagram and they don't go see it if they're alreadyon YouTube they have a higher probability of doing it so I would testit both ways with your market it might work better on Instagram but you have totest it out and David doesn't lie kata tells us exactly what what we need tosee yeah making a video having many watches at the same time so ten thousandto do what people watching it after he said that's why yeah it's basicallysaying there's a lot of interest in this video this is happening right now andit's higher than normal let's go ahead and suggest it out to more people thatare similar to the people that are actually watching this and go from thereand then there's a thing that's in beta I don't know if it's been released likeI get the beta tests and some of that but it's showing how many people arewatching it live give your videos views this as these people are watching yeahshe was just asking about Instagram and you can do the same thingyeah listen as Facebook owns Facebook and Instagram they don't want you toleave they make it hard for you to leave right andif you have a big audience yeah absolutely do it on there and you canpush it over to have them bleeped one platform and to go into youtube theyhave to be pretty hard courts and want to see what you're doing on it but ifthey're already on YouTube it's a little bit easier to make it work so you can doit both ways I would encourage you to do it both ways just to see what works bestfor your audience to the coders here comes - yeah so and you're breakingFacebook's Terms of Service when you do that and when you break you to spit I'msorry about the use with Facebook's term of service they can delete your accountso why would you want to why would you want to do that right so you gotta lookat every aspect of what what's acceptable for Facebook because like Iwas doing that and they're like oh we just obtained her Terms of Service youcan't then I'm like okay yeah can't go straight like you can as possible butit's breaking the Terms of Service of face yeah you better be cautious on them it does it does exactly for Facebook ifyou're doing a simulcast they that's breaking their terms so Facebook yeah no no don't make it unlisted make itpublic so this video is public the life live videos public but at the end of thelivestream of your live video to make it private privateyeah and that's that's really important not unlisted but cut public and thenprivate because what what happens is YouTube has two different systems anduntil it publishes as a live stream then it doesn't become a regular videotelling goes through a process what you're doing to stop again you're sayingoh I don't want this to go out there's only just spontaneous there's only forthe people that were there and so you're kind of taking advantage of that putyour question and do and we've got an event coming up and it's not YouTube alot of the life and it's not something else going on soon would it still workthe same to launch the video as long as you're taking your audience-youtube thumbnail downloder
